Redical, the owner and operator of The Liberty Romford, has announced the opening of Danish variety retailer Flying Tiger Copenhagen, further strengthening the centre’s diverse and evolving retail offer.

Located adjacent to Boots and Clarks, the 4,500 sq ft store brings Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s distinctive mix of design-led, affordable and playful products to the scheme, adding a new and highly complementary proposition for The Liberty’s customers. Spanning homeware, stationery, gifts and toys, the discovery-led shopping experience is indicative of the continual introduction of relevant, category defining brands, evolving the destination in response to the needs and expectations of its substantial catchment.

With this year’s footfall on track for 14 million people (up 6% from 2025) and a catchment of 1.2million people, The Liberty serves a broad and diverse customer base. The scheme’s scale, strong regional reach and established position provide an attractive platform for brands desiring a substantial audience outside London, whilst its evolving mix of brands reinforces its role as a key destination within the region.

Dan Tucker, Leasing Manager at Redical, commented: "The opening of Flying TigerCopenhagen is a great example of how we continue to evolve The Liberty Romford through considered, incremental change. We want our customers to see something new and relevant each time they visit, and Flying Tiger Copenhagen brings a distinctive proposition to the centre. It indicates that The Liberty is a destination where leading brands can connect with a significant audience outside central London, and we are sure our visitors will love to explore the fun and vibrant addition.”

Mitch Cooper from Flying Tiger Copenhagen added: “The Liberty Romford is a key strategic step for us in our continued growth in the UK. This year, we’re prioritising growth and The Liberty’s dynamic mix of retail, leisure, and family-friendly experiences, makes this the right fit for us. With new items coming into stock every week, there’s always something new for our shoppers to discover. Our philosophy is simple: make the everyday extraordinary.”

This announcement follows the signing of specialist motor insurance firm KGM at The Liberty Romford. The 10,800 sq ft office letting underscores the growing appeal of The Liberty as a mixed-use destination, capable of attracting occupiers beyond traditional retail.
